This joint project emerged from the discussions of Guy Laliberte and George Harrison in 2000. After 3 years of negotiations between Ringo Starr, Paul McCartney, Yoko Ono (widow of John Lennon), and Olivia Harrison (widow of George Harrison); Apple Corps Ltd. and MGM Mirage have come to an agreement. The executive producer of Cirque de Soleil's Love is Neil Aspinall, while the concept creators of the show are Dominic Champagne and Gilles Ste-Croix. On the other hand, the director of creation is also Ste-Croix, while Chantal Tremblay is the Creation Director. The sale of the tickets for Love started during April 04, 2006.
The preview performances of the production have been played from June 02 ' June 29. Two nights of the preview performances have been attended by Paul McCartney. During these nights, there have been changes depending on the reaction of the audience. Sections have been added or deleted in order to polish the whole production. The gala opening of Cirque du Soleil's Love happened on June 30. Cirque du Soleil's Love does not use live music, compared with its other productions. On the contrary, it utilizes prerecorded songs from The Beatles. Recording session tapes from Abbey Road Studios have been orchestrated again. These inspired the theatrical and visual effects, acrobatics, and dance performance of the show.
