Mamma Mia is Coming to Town!
The story revolves around in the fictitious Hellenic world where Donna, a taverna manager, and her lovely daughter Sophie which was tied up to a man under the name of Sky, lived under a life growing up without a husband for Donna and a father for her. Sophie always wanted to know where her father was but her mother would just ignore her every time she asked such particular question about the man. One day, as they were cleaning their house, Sophie found her mother's old journal, stating her mother's life as a young adult and as a woman. He read the diary until such part in the journal caught very much her attention'that there were three men engaged in her mother in which Sophie thinks that one of which could be her father.
As her wedding was soon coming up, she sent some invitations to these three men having it done secretly to her mother. The three men arrived a few days later and introduced themselves as Harry Bright, Bill Austin, and Sam Carmichael. Her mother, in particular, also invited some of her friends to attend her daughter's wedding. These were Tanya and Rosie. Her mother with her invited friends once had a music trio on their teenage years. Sophie took an initial act of believing that Bill was his father for his aunt left a big amount of money for the family. As the other two men, Sam and Harry, noticed that Sophie asked Bill to give her away on her wedding they soon approached her. On the other hand, Sophie and Sky came up to a point of deciding not to have their marriage yet for they still don't know each other that much. They still needed to know each other more. Yet Sophie also gave her word that it doesn't matter who her real father was for he now loved the three men and gave them an equal share of love. On the other side, Sam approached Donna and still showed her living love to her, even though anger from the past still stroke up.
Because of such uniquely produced musical play, Mama Mia! garnered several nominations and awards that made their play more in demand to most of North American theaters and even reaching worldwide. They garnered several awards from the Tony Awards, Desk Awards, and Theater World Awards all in the year 2002.
