Jersey Boys are a Hit!

The Four Seasons was one of the most successful rock 'n roll groups during the '60s. Jersey Boys, a two-style musical was based on the lives of these men. The musical is a documentary-style show based on the lives of Frank Valli and The Four Seasons. This is a story of four men doing blue-collar jobs, trying to make it through stardom which they actually did. The musical was a big success and a big box office hit on Broadway.

Jersey Boys opened in November 6, 2005, at the August Wilson Theater in Broadway. The musical was directed by Des McAnnuf, a director known for his artistic details at La Jolla Playhouse. To tell the violent and rise-to-fame story of Frankie Valli and his group The Four Seasons, the musical made use of their many hit songs. The day after Jersey Boys had opened, it became box office and took $400,000. It was both a jukebox and a concert musical that premiered in October 5, 2004 at the La Jolla Playhouse that run through the 16th of January the next year.

In Broadway, Frankie Valli was played by Michael Longoria and Cory Grant as an alternate, as well as Christian Hoff as Tommy De Vito, Daniel Reichard as Bob Gaudio and J. Robert Spencer as Nick Massi.

The Jersey Boys musical won many Tony Awards and that includes Best Musical, Best Actor in a Musical, Best Featured Actor in a Musical, and Best Lighting Design of a Musical and John Lloyd Young won the Theater World Award. It was also nominated for Best Book of a Musical, Best Direction of a Musical, Best Orchestrations and Best Scenic Design of a Musical.
