Texas Tech Red Raiders: A Brief Bio

Texas Tech Red Raiders athletic teams represent the Texas Tech University. They participate in the NCAA Division I and take part in various sports events including football, basketball, baseball, Track and field, and cross country. Ever since the Big 12 Conference was founded in the year 1996, the Texas Tech football team has maintained a record of having successful season in every year. No other football teams in the Big 12 Conference have got this kind of record.

Back in early 1925, the Texas Tech played their first football game against the McMurry University. The game came to an end with a disputable 0-0 tie. In 2000, Mike Leach was selected as their main coach. Since then, the Red Raiders have made appearances in every bowl game. The Texas Longhorns and the Texas A&M Aggies are the important rivals of the Red Raiders. Football games between these rivals are so popular that spectators start camping around the Jones AT&T Stadium 3 or 4 days before the beginning of the event.
