The Proud History of the Seminoles

The Florida State Seminoles are a college football team in the NCAA Division-FBS. They also belong to the Atlantic Division of the Atlantic Coast Conference. The Seminoles have been in the top five for the fourteen years from 1987 to 2000. Bobby Bowden, their current coach, boasts more games won than any other coach in the NCAA.

The Florida State University was established in 1851. By 1905, the university became an all women college. Finally in 1947, the school went coeducational again and football was played again. The Seminoles have competed in at least thirty four bowl games in its history. The most common one is the Orange Bowl to which they have made seven trips. The Seminoles have been to the Gator Bowl six times. Their current record is 17-16-1.
