About the Champs Sports Bowl

The Champs Sports Bowl is a yearly college football bowl competition. It is played annually in Orlando, Florida. Between 1990 and 2000, Champs Sport Bowl game was contested in Miami Gardens, at the Pro Player Stadium. It is now played at the Citrus Bowl in Orlando. The Champs Sports Bowl was the first set up by Raycom Sports in 1990. The organizers wanted another Bowl game like the Orange Bowl. The organizers joined forces and brought in Blockbuster as title sponsor. Even though the inaugural game was a success the subsequent games has never matched the success of the first. For 2 years the Blockbuster Bowl and the Orange Bowl were played on the same day, 1st January, within miles from each other.
