The team then reached the playoffs for the next fourteen years. They were expected to deliver in the 1993 season but did not live up to the expectations. In 1998 the team performed well and reached the finals of the Stanley cup for the first time. The 1999 series was not a good one as the team suffered setbacks due to the injuries of the players. In the 2001-02 season the team played a total of 82 games out of which they managed to win 36 games. In the 2002-03 season, they bagged 39 wins and finished 2nd in the division. In the 2003-04 season the team managed to win 23 games. In 2005-06 season the team bagged 29 wins and ranked 5th in the division and in the latest 2006-2007 season they bagged 28 wins and finished 5th in the division.

There are four members who have been inducted into the hall of fame. They are Mike Gartner, Od Langway, Scott Stevens and Larry Murphy.
