History of the Senators

Ottawa senators are a team of ice hockey players in Ottawa. They belong to northeast division of eastern conference of National Hockey League. They are the present champions of the eastern conference. They have also bagged the Prince of Wales trophy. In the most recently concluded season they were the runners up. They play at the Scotiabank place. The team was brought into existence by Bruce firestone. They started playing from the 1992-93 season. Rod Bryden took over the ownership of the team in 1993. Initially for the first few seasons the team did not perform very well and ranked last. However the restructuring of the team has led to its continued improvement. The team has reached the playoffs every year for the past 10 years. At present it is one of the most well playing teams in the League. The legendary "cash line" is from the team.
