About the All Star Game
The National Hockey League All-Star game was played on 14 February, 1934. This was a benefit match for Ace Bailey, an eminent hockey player. The Howie Morenz memorial game was played for the benefit of Howie Morenz who was a superstar of the league in the 1930s. The All-Star game became an annual feature from 1947-48 season of the league. The game was cancelled in the 2005 and 2006. It was again played in 2007 in Dallas. The west won against the east 12-9. In the 2008 game the Atlanta thrashers were the hosts. The game was won by the eastern conference 8-7. The 2009 game would be hosted by the Montreal Canadians to commemorate the 100th anniversary of the club.
