Jersey Devils: Past and Present
John McMullen the New Jersey shipping tycoon purchased the team and moved then to New Jersey in the year 1982 and was renamed as New Jersey Devils. Their first match was with Pittsburg Penguins which resulted in a 3-3 tie. Devils first win was against New York Rangers but after that the team collapsed again. From 1992-93 season, the team's performance roared high with the able coaching of Lemaire.
In National Hockey League, they represent the Atlantic Division of the Eastern Conference. After shifting to New Jersey, they used to play their home Matches at the Brendan Byrne Arena which is now known as Izod Center. Later in 2007 they started playing at Prudential Center in Newark. From Lemaire's tenure, the team gained its stability and is now known as the best defense team and holds the record of most wins for 2006-2007.
