History of the Red Wings
The fans of the team follow certain traditions which they believe bring good luck to the team. The fans throw an octopus on ice. They throw it at the time when the national anthem is played. At the time of the playoffs, Joe Louis Arena, one of the players of the team is given a red colored octopus with a red eye. This is also supposed to be auspicious for the team. The team has had some outstanding players and many have been inducted into the prestigious Hall of Fame.
