The Minnesota North Stars were playing in the NHL League from 1967 to 1993 and owing to their poor run in the championships and financial problems, Norman Green got the permission to move the team to Dallas and thus Dallas Stars were born. The Stars had a goof first season outing and finished third in the Central Division. It was when the Stars lost to Vancouver Canucks, Green decided to sell the team to Tom Hicks. The Stars won their first Stanley Cup in 1999 and reached the Cup's final in 2000.
