Information about the Blackhawks
The fans of the team follow some traditions during the game. They cheer loudly when the national anthem is sung. This is believed to be because of the rivalry the team had with Edmonton Oilers. Another famous tradition is an intermission contest. Some fans are picked to shoot at a puck and win prizes. The first contestant is usually a child who is followed by a male and than a female. The mascot of the team is the hawk. It wears the attire of the team and sports four feathers on the top pf his head.
The team started its season in 1926. In 1931 the team for the first time got to the Stanley cup final. They however could not perform well in the last two games. They had a great season in 1932 but it did not lead to playoff success. They lifted their first Stanley cup in 1934. Since 2000 the team has not been having a very successful run. In 2005-2006 they played a total of 82 games out of which they won 26. They finished 4th. In the 2006-2007 season, they played 82 games out of which they won 31 games and finished 5th. In the 2007-2008 season they have so far played 50 games out of which they have won 23.
