Washington Redskins is an American Football Team from Washington, United States of America, nicknamed 'The Skins'. They play at FedExField located in Maryland. Their headquarters is located in Redskin Park, Ashburn, Virginia. The team is a member of the National Football Conference in the National Football League, NFL.

The early success of the Team made them well-loved by their fans. There have however, been several agitations over the name and logo representing the team because of their symbolism of Native Americans. The attempts to change the name have proved abortive. The argument of the team is that the logo and name reflects the bravery and dignity of Native Americans. Surveys conducted by Sports Illustrated showed that 75% of the Native Americans that took part in the survey did not mind the Redskins name. The team's colors are burgundy and gold. Their outfit includes gold face masks, gold pants with both burgundy and white jerseys. This uniform design was created in 1979 by Coach Jack Pardee. Jack Kent Cooke, the former Redskins Owner died the day before the opening of the new stadium in Landover, Maryland. The team was subsequently sold to Dan Snyder.
