The Seahawks: A Brief History
In 1976, the Seahawk's logo was a royal blue and forest green hawk's head. The pants & helmets worn by the team members were silver. The uniforms were a combination of white, royal blue and green. This design was later updated in 1983; the arms incorporated the Seahawks' logo. Due to the combination and reflectivity of the colors later imbibed, the team has been wearing all blue at home and all white on the road since 2003.
The name Seattle Seahawks was selected in 1975 from a public contest which drew over 20,000 entries. The Seahawks plan to relocate their summer training camp back to Seattle City this year when their new Renton complex is ready. The Seahawks switched conferences twice in the post-merger era. They have won six division titles listed as follows: the 1988 & 99 AFC West titles, NFC West titles for 2004, 2005, 2006, and 2007. They also won the NFC Championship Game once in 2005. The Seahawks have reached playoffs in five consecutive seasons between 2003 & 2007.
