A Brief Bio of the Eagles
The team has been sold and resold a number of times. Leornard Tose bought the team from Jerry Wolman in 1969 for $16,155,000. Then in 1985 due to huge gambling debts he had to sell the Philadelphia Eagles for $65 million to Ed Leibowitz and Norman Braman who were successful auto dealers from Florida. The present owner is Jeffrey Lurie. There have been minor changes to the team uniforms with the current colors being black, silver, white and midnight green. Their fight song is titled "fly, Eagles fly' while the team mascot is Swoop. The team were first named the Philadelphia Eagles but were later renamed Philadelphia-Pittsburg Steelers in 1443 due to a merger but by the next year were back to using their usual name.
The present coach of the Philadelphia Eagles is Andy Reid and their home games are hosted at Lincoln Financial Field. They have won the NFL championships 3 times (1948, 1949 and 1960) and have gotten a total of 3 Conference Championships (NFL 1960 and NFC 1980 and 2004). They also got a total of 11 division championships, 4 from the NFL East division and 7 from the NFC East division.
