Miami Dolphins: A Brief History
Don Shula, the most successful coach in American Football history coached the Dolphins for a better part of their history and the team only lost two seasons out of the 26 when he was in charge of the club. The present head coach is Tony Sparano. The current owner is Wayne Huizenga. The team's logo has remained the same over the years and the uniforms as well. The logo is a dolphin putting on a helmet with the sun shinning. The uniform is white helmet, orange trim and aqua green or white jerseys. The team has a unique song that is usually played after they make a score or get extra points. The fight song was done by the Rubber Band.
They are the oldest team in the Florida area. The team played in the popular super bowl competition in 1971 but lost. They went on to win the competition in 1972 and set a record of wins in all the 14 games of the season, up till date, no team has beaten the record. Their current and only existing field of play at home is the Dolphin stadium in Miami.
