Background Info about the Panthers
The Carolina Panthers got something that some other new football franchises did not get upon first entering the league and this thing was free agency. They made good use of the tool by drafting some top football players and making them members of their team. The Carolina Panthers made history when they won their very first game as an expansion team. They beat the Jacksonville Jaguars in the yearly Hall of Fame Game on July 29, 1995. This game later came to be in known as the "Battle of the Big Cats".
