Kelly Clarkson Live in Concert!
Pop singer and Texas native, Kelly Clarkson, was born in Ft Worth in 1982. Kelly grew up in the suburb of Burleson, TX. The youngest of three children, Kelly frequently moved around with her divorced mother. The family finally settled in Burleson after her mother remarried. Her family was often without money and her parents would argue regularly because of it. This would later be an inspiration for Kelly's most personal lyrics.
During her parents divorce and her mother's eventually second divorce, Kelly would find escape in music. However, she never really took it seriously as a career until her teens. Kelly decided to become a singer at age 13 after she sang Mariah Carey's "Vision of Love" in a high school talent show. After the show a man came up to her and said, "God has given you this gift. You've got to sing. You're destined to sing." Kelly took those words to heart and has been singing ever since. She began classical voice training in hopes of earning a college scholarship. Originally, Kelly had wanted to become a marine biologist. But in seventh grade, a teacher heard Kelly singing in the halls and asked her to join her school's choir.
