Dave Matthews on Tour!
Dave Matthews Band formed in 1991 in Charlottesville, VA. In addition to the band's namesake, lead singer and guitarist, the group also features musicians Stefan Lessard on bass, Leroi Moore on saxophone, Boyd Tinsley on electric violin and Carter Beauford on drums. They draw influences from funk, pop, rock, reggae, jazz and folk. But, the band's sound has been described as indescribable.
Matthews himself, is influenced by his childhood in South Africa. Many of his lyrics reflect the social strife he saw, as well as the pain he felt from his father's death at a young age.
