Oklahoma native and proud American, country singer Toby Keith was born in 1961 in Clinton, OK. He and his family moved to Oklahoma City suburb of Moore when he was a child. Toby's grandma owned a supper club in town and this is where he first became interested in music and the musicians that came to play there. He picked up his first guitar at the age of eight after receiving it as a present from his parents. Toby would put down his guitar for a while in high school and instead picked up a football, playing for his school's team.
