Grab your flip flops...Kenny Chesney is on Tour!
Kenny initially signed contracts with Opryland Music Group and BMI in 1992 to publish the songs he had written. This is a very important step in getting a record contract for any new country artist, as it allows them to get paid for songs they write for other artists. After struggling for several years, Kenny made his major label debut
in 1994 on Capricorn Records, called "In My Wildest Dreams." He then signed with BNA in 1995. With the support of his of BNA records, he had his first
hit record on the country charts, with "All I Need to Know." The record spawned three charted singles, the title-track, "Fall In Love," and "Grandpa Told Me So."
After releasing 1996's "Me and You," Kenny released I Will Stand." This would prove to be Kenny's most successful album to date, and produced his first #1 hit in "She's Got It All." Since then, Kenny has sold more than 25 million albums worldwide. His 2000 "Greatest Hits" compilation included such hits as "How Forever Feels", "She Thinks My Tractor's Sexy", and the Jerry Maguire influenced, "You Had Me At Hello." The song is thought to have also been inspired by a crush Kenny had on future wife, Renee Zellweger.
He has achieved amazing success in his career, earning CMA and ACM Entertainer of the Year titles 3 times each, respectively. He as had an astounding 12 #1 singles and 7 #1 albums on the country charts.
More recently, Kenny has been spending time at his home on St John's, in the US Virgin Islands. This change of atmosphere has influenced a change in Kenny's songwriting. His island influenced Flip-Flop Summer tour was 2007's highest grossing country tour.
