A Brief History of the Suns

The following years, Colangelo continued to make changes to fit his confirmation of the team's ability including replacing three coaches in two years. As the 1975-1976 season started and new Coach John McLeod was in place, injury stopped the Suns from making it past 4th. As the coaching style of McLeod took hold, so did the team. They ended up making it to the finals in the 1975-1976 seasons.

The previous victory was short lived as injuries continued to cripple the team and they ended up in last position. The next season began to show improvement as Don Buse joined the team. In closing ranks, Phoenix won their first Division Title in 1981.

In a repeat of history with a twist, the Suns, after climbing the mountain, were knocked back down as injuries plagued the team. With the constant ups and downs concerning injury coupled with trades, the team appeared to stagnate as McLeod felt the team lacked maturity. During an interview after losing to the Lakers, it is said McLeod became agitated in which he was fired the following day.

The 1987-1988 seasons brought massive changes as Colangelo bought the team fearing current owners were going to move it. With this move in addition to a change in players again, the Suns began to recap their winning strategy. With each passing year, the Phoenix Suns continue to rise and fall; however, it is never far from the Championship title.
