About the Timberwolves

The 1995, Timberwolves saw a brand new coach named Flip Saunders, and in 1996 two of the Timberwolves became the first to be on the All Star Team. The two men were named Tom Gugliotta and Kevin Garnett. And by the end of this year the team had changed their logo, their colors and started to play on the floor at the Target Center.

In 1998 after signing Kevin Garnet to the 126 million dollar contract, they lost Tom Gugliotta, but they also picked up Terrell Brandon and they made it to the playoffs.

Trouble touched the team when guard Malik Sealy was killed in an accident in 2000. But during the 2003-04 seasons, the Timberwolves were on top of the Western Conference and went to the playoffs. The next season, the team was back in trouble with the many contract disputes of players such as Latrell Sprewell, Troy Cassell and Troy Hudson. The team lost its coach and the general manager Kevin McHale became the coach for the remainder of the season.

Finally in 2005, the Timberwolves found a new coach in Dwane Casey, who stuck around for one year until Kevin McHale fired him and brought in the new coach Randy Wittman.

n this new season the Timberwolves started out in Istanbul and London. On October 10th 2007, they lost a key player in Kevin Garnet. At the beginning of the season they were already losing, in the first five games of the season the team was already losing with a scorching 0-5 and they can only pray that the rest of the season will prove to be better than the first.
