About the Bucks
Having reached what some were considering invincible, the Milwaukee Bucks were in direct competition with Philadelphia and Boston. As their record continued to shine, their wins hit a brick wall. Facing the inability to beat the Celtics and/or 76ers, Milwaukee lost seven consecutive seasons. While learning to accept defeat for the first time, the Bucks strived ahead with good stats, but no titles.
In 1988, the team moved to their new stadium, Bradley Center. While in honor of their 25th anniversary, a new Buck was introduced. Team colors were changed as was the logo offering a more noble appearance. Ready to do battle and reclaim the throne, Milwaukee showed promise, only to continue their ongoing losing streak.
Hope arrived in 2001 where the Bucks were seen in the Division playoffs. As it would be very short lived the once superstars contained neither in their title now. In 2005, with their record so inadequate, the Milwaukee Bucks were placed in the NBA Draft Lottery. With less than a 6% chance of drawing 1st pick, it appears luck had changed their direction as they chose 1st round player Andrew Bogut.
While Andrew Bogut is leading the team and showing promise not seen in a while, the Bucks, who once touched the clouds, are content right now. While he is not Kareem Abdul-Jabbar, Andrew Bogut is claiming one small victory at a time, and who knows, maybe he will be.
