About the Bucks
Finding its start in 1968 with an NBA franchise award, the Milwaukee Bucks started off as a powerhouse that could not be stopped. Receiving top recognition, the Bucks continue to twist their way through playoff after playoff. As 1969 arrives, fate was sealed with the toss of a coin as Lew Alcindor (also known as Kareem Abdul-Jabbar) enters the picture. Known as the year of Milwaukee, 1971 brought their first and only, NBA Championship, as Lew Alcindor became rookie of the year.
As they broke record after record, the Bucks continued to dominate the world of basketball during the 1970s. With 1971 Milwaukee claimed the enviable title as the first team in NBA history to have three consecutive 60-win seasons. As 1980 welcomes the season, the Bucks have reached status easily claiming most successful.
