Check out the Chicago White Sox Live!

In 1900, the Western League was renamed into the American League. Even though it was still a minor league, subject to the National League, it was given a permission to put the team in Chicago, and since then the team was named the Chicago White Sox. Short after that the team acquired a number of stars from the older league. They included pitcher and manager Clark Griffith and the American League first major-league pennant. In the following years, the White Sox kept on advancing in pitching and defense, guided by Ed Walsh, famous for pitching over 400 innings each season in his prime.

In 1910, the Sox transferred to Comiskey Park, where they resided for over 8 decades. Exactly here the well-known Black Sox Scandal took place in 1919. The scandal became the reason for the popular belief that the team became the victim of the Curse of the Black Sox, which was repeatedly bringing the team misfortunes for over 88 years.

The curse finally came to an end when the team won the World Series in 2005. In 2005, the White Sox showed the best record in the major leagues for much of the year. They defeated the Cleveland Indians and the Detroit Tigers and yielded only to the St. Louis Cardinals. In 2006'2007 the team continues to produce stable results. The Chicago White Sox matchups attract thousands of vigorous fans. Make sure to purchase a ticket in advance and enjoy an exciting game.
