Check out the Chicago White Sox Live!
The Chicago White Sox, based in Chicago, Illinois, are a member of the Central Division of Major League Baseball's American League. The name of the team originated from a prominent uniform feature (now no longer in use) in 1904. The White Sox are also nicknamed as the Sox, the South Siders, the ChiSox, the Pale Hose, the Good Guys, the Go-Go Sox, the Black Sox, and South Side Hit Men. However, most fans refer to the team as simply the Sox.
The very beginning of the team is connected with the Sioux City Cornhuskers, which filled its niche in a minor league called the Western League at the end of the 1890s. After the Western League reorganized itself at the end of the 1890s, Ban Johnson, a former Cincinnati-based reporter, became its President. Johnson bought the Sioux City team and moved it to St. Paul, where it enjoyed some success over the next five seasons.
